Music

At Cinnamon Brow C of E Primary School, we believe that every child should have the opportunity to develop a love of music and deepen their musical understanding through a broad, balanced and ambitious curriculum. Through singing, listening, playing, composing, improvising, performing and evaluating, pupils develop creativity, confidence and musicality whilst exploring a diverse range of musical styles, traditions, cultures and historical periods. Music is woven throughout school life, beginning in the Early Years and developing progressively through classroom lessons, specialist instrumental tuition and performance opportunities. Through discussion, collaboration and oracy, children learn to articulate their ideas, evaluate music and use subject-specific vocabulary, enabling them to grow as confident musicians while developing their cultural awareness, self-expression and appreciation of the power of music.
