Collective Worship
Collective Worship at Cinnamon Brow CE Primary School
Collective Worship is a cherished and central part of life at Cinnamon Brow CE Primary School. It provides opportunities for our school community to come together to reflect on our vision, deepen our understanding of Christian faith and consider how we can live out our values in everyday life.
Our worship is inclusive, invitational and inspirational. Everyone is welcomed and encouraged to engage in a way that is meaningful to them.
Through Collective Worship, pupils explore our vision of hope and a future and learn how Christian teachings can guide and inspire their actions. Worship helps children to develop spiritually by creating opportunities for reflection, prayer, questioning and discussion.
What Does Collective Worship Look Like?
Collective Worship takes place daily and may include:
- Whole-school worship led by the headteacher and deputy headteacher.
- Worship led by clergy and church representatives.
- Key Stage and class worship.
- Bible stories and teachings.
- Prayer and reflection.
- Singing and celebration.
- Opportunities for pupil leadership.
- Reflection on local, national and global issues.
Each worship theme is carefully linked to our Christian vision and values, helping children to understand how faith can inspire hope, courage and positive action.
Prayer and Reflection
Prayer is an important part of school life. Children are invited to participate in prayers and moments of reflection throughout the day. Dedicated reflection areas across school provide opportunities for pupils to pause, think deeply and respond to questions that help them grow spiritually.
Children are encouraged to develop their own responses to prayer and reflection while respecting the beliefs of others.
Pupil Leadership
Our pupils play an active role in Collective Worship through reading, leading prayers, sharing reflections and helping to plan worship experiences. These opportunities develop confidence, responsibility and leadership whilst enabling children to contribute meaningfully to the spiritual life of the school.
Courageous Advocacy
Our vision calls us to work with hope and purpose to challenge injustice and help shape a better future. Through Collective Worship, pupils explore issues of fairness, equality and responsibility, inspiring them to become courageous advocates within school, the local community and the wider world.
Impact
Collective Worship helps our pupils to:
- Grow spiritually and emotionally.
- Understand Christian beliefs and values.
- Develop a sense of hope and aspiration.
- Build positive relationships.
- Reflect on their actions and choices.
- Develop empathy and compassion for others.
- Become active citizens who seek to make a positive difference in the world.
Through Collective Worship, we seek to ensure that every child leaves Cinnamon Brow with hope in their heart, confidence in their abilities and a desire to contribute positively to society.
