Flourishing Programme
FLOURISH at Cinnamon Brow CE Primary School
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Jeremiah 29:11
At Cinnamon Brow CE Primary School, we are proud to be part of the Diocese of Liverpool's vision to establish worshipping communities that help children, families, schools and churches grow in faith together. This work is inspired by the national FLOURISH Network, which promotes strong relationships between church, school and home, helping children and adults to flourish spiritually and personally. Our FLOURISH community provides opportunities for children and their families to gather, worship, learn and build meaningful relationships. Through these experiences, we seek to create a welcoming environment where all can explore faith, ask questions and develop a sense of belonging.
What is a FLOURISH Worship Community?
A FLOURISH Worship Community is an inclusive group that brings together children, families, school staff, church leaders and members of the wider community. It seeks to strengthen the connections between:
- School
- Home
- Church
By building these relationships, we support the spiritual development and wellbeing of our children and families while creating opportunities for worship, reflection and service. The FLOURISH model is rooted in partnership between schools and churches, with a strong emphasis on young people's leadership and participation. [churchofengland.org], [ccx.org.uk]
Pupil Leadership
A key feature of FLOURISH is that children's voices are at the heart of the community. Young people are encouraged to take on leadership roles by:
- Leading prayers and reflection
- Helping to plan worship experiences
- Sharing readings and faith stories
- Contributing ideas for community projects
- Supporting younger pupils
These opportunities help our children develop confidence, responsibility and a deeper understanding of what it means to live out our Christian vision. The FLOURISH model places young people at the centre of leadership and decision-making. [churchofengland.org], [ccx.org.uk]
Learning Alongside Others
We are fortunate to be supported by FLOURISH scholars and diocesan leaders who bring expertise, guidance and encouragement to our developing worship community. Through these partnerships, we are able to reflect on our practice, explore innovative ways of engaging children and strengthen the impact of worship across our school community.
Supporting Our Vision
Our FLOURISH community helps bring our vision of Hope and a Future to life by:
- Encouraging children and families to grow together in faith.
- Creating opportunities for prayer, worship and reflection.
- Developing confident young leaders.
- Building strong relationships between school, church and home.
- Nurturing a sense of hope, belonging and purpose.
- Supporting all members of our community to flourish.
Flourishing Together
At Cinnamon Brow, we believe that children flourish best when school, church and home work closely together. Through our FLOURISH Worship Community, we aim to provide opportunities for every child and family to experience welcome, hope, encouragement and spiritual growth.
Our FLOURISH community reflects our commitment to ensuring that every child and family can flourish, grow in confidence and look to the future with hope.
