English

At Cinnamon Brow Church of England Primary School, we believe that language and literacy are at the heart of every child's success. Our English curriculum is designed to develop confident readers, writers, speakers and listeners who can communicate effectively and enjoy a lifelong love of reading. Through carefully chosen high-quality texts, children develop the knowledge, vocabulary and writing skills needed to succeed across the curriculum. Reading is taught through a structured approach that develops fluency, comprehension and a love of books, while writing enables children to write for a range of purposes and audiences with increasing accuracy, creativity and independence. We provide rich opportunities for discussion, vocabulary development and purposeful communication, ensuring that every child is equipped with the skills and confidence to thrive both in school and beyond.
